History
|
|
Humble beginnings |
In 1959, a then 40 year old, Theodore Elhard decided to start his very own electrical company called Elhard Electric
Enterprises. He purchased a small warehouse just off Whyte Avenue and got to work. At that time Elhard Electric
repertoire included residential, light industrial and commercial work. |

|
Next Generations |
Now that Teds son Richard became involved in Elhard Electric Enterprises Ltd, the company needed to expand and change their
name. In 1972 Richard and Ted created R&T Network Solutions. They focused more on commercial and industrial ventures and
Ted slowly began to retire, though he returned quite often to torment his employees and check in on things.
Noticing that the market was changing and that R&T Electric Services Ltd was doing more and more data installations,
Richard opened R&T Network Solutions in 1992.
In 1996 Richards son, Michael Elhard, decided to become a third generation electrician. Nothing could make Ted prouder.

Specialty Installations Ltd. |
Now that R&T was doing both electrical, data and fiber installations, Richard decided to take it one step farther.
In the summer of 1997 R&T Network Solutions purchased a 50% stake in Specialty Installations Ltd (a vibrant and
growing computer hardware and software company). Together these two companies would be able to be a full
service package.

|
New Shop |
Thriving and growing R&T needed to move from the old mouse filled warehouse to better accommodations! In 2001 R&T purchased
their new improved shop just down the alley from their old home. Located still off Whyte Avenue, they were central to
service most customers.

|
|
Mirinada |
In October of 2006 Specialty Installations Ltd needed to expand. Purchasing another
thriving computer company called Mirinada.
|
|
Big Year |
Richards’s partner in Specialty Installations wished to move on. As of June 2018 R&T
Network Solutions purchased Specialty Installations Ltd. outright as to make things
more streamlined and simple. Though as to not change too much.
Noticing the expansion, and traffic surrounding Whyte Avenue we were no longer in a prime
location. In July of 2018, we moved again! This time to an industrial park with quick
access to Yellowhead Trail, the Whitemud, Stony Plain Trail and the Anthony Henday.
It’s actually faster to get around the city from out new location! Check us out at
11454 Winterburn Road NW!!

|
The Future |
Who knows what the future will hold but; with the new location and
streamlined business processes we are ready for it!
Perhaps Ruger Elhard (Richards’s grandson) may want to be a fourth generation electrician?
